Irish & Proud of It!


Irish Raisin Bread

(Makes 1 loaf--If you are making 2 you might want to make extra mix to add 1/2 of the mix to each). 

1/2 stick of butter 
1/4 cup sugar 
2 eggs 
2 cups flour 
3 tsp baking powder 
1/4 tsp baking soda 
1 cup sour cream 
3/4 (+) cup raisins 

In a bowl cream butter, blend in sugar, beat in the eggs. Sift flour, baking soda, & baking powder together and add in sour cream. Mix thoroughly and add raisins. Spread in greased pan. Sprinkle some cinnamon sugar on top before you put it in the oven. Cut an X in the top and bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes then 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
